Woman - Thy Name Shall Be Babymaker

There was a lot going on the past couple of weeks and one of the items that went before voters last night may have been overlooked by the general public – but we all need to be aware of it.
Mississippi Initiative 26
The National Organization for Women joins women's rights supporters around the country in applauding Mississippi voters for rejecting Initiative 26, a measure that would have defined personhood as beginning at fertilization in that state's constitution. Initiative 26 would have banned common birth control methods and infertility treatments used by women who are not pregnant.
“But what does [the Mississippi personhood amendment] really mean?” asked Ms. Wasserman Schultz. In her and others’ view, it will “outlaw many forms of birth control, including most birth-control pills, IUDs, as well as the morning-after pill”; prohibit doctors from saving a woman’s life by ending an ectopic pregnancy; and “seriously curtail, or possibly even halt, infertility treatments like [in-vitro fertilization]” And, “it would ban all abortions, even in cases of rape, incest or when doctors deem it medically necessary for the health of the mother,” she added.

From an article by Judie Brown from “the mother” of the American Life League
It is, therefore, with the greatest pleasure that I introduce the updated, semantically accurate Federal Personhood Amendment, a proposal which American Life League will use as the centerpiece of its legislative strategy now and until the day when it becomes an official amendment to the United States Constitution:
(1994) Brian Young of Los Angeles is Senior Vice President, Government Affairs,  American Life League. He worked in Congress for six years-five years with Congressman Dornan and one year as counsel to the Senate Subcommittee on Aging, Family and Human Services.  Brian also served three years as Administrative Director of the American Legislative Exchange Council

And there are state branches of this organization
- dedicated to "personhood" across the United States
- and advocates at the Federal level.

would effectively overturn Roe v. Wade (1973),
as the Supreme Court is bound by the U.S. Constitution.

And what does Mitt Romney think about a "personhood amendment"?An advertisement released by the national Democratic Party last week linked Romney's support for a federal amendment stating life starts at conception to Mississippi Initiative 26.
In an Oct. 1 interview, Romney replies, "Absolutely," when Mike Huckabee asks him if he would support a federal "personhood" amendment.

OH MY,  rock a bye baby and baby and baby and baby and baby and baby and baby and baby and baby...
This movement isn’t new - it has been around for a long time – and it’s not going away soon.
