As the ALEC members are packing their suitcases getting ready to be wined and dined in Salt Lake City by corporate lobbyists representatives I thought it was time for a couple of special posts.
In March of 2010 my blog was highlighted to the State Chairs of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) and was noted as a “radical opponent” because I was listing names of people affiliated with ALEC.
It’s been awhile since I posted any lists, so I thought I should do another list for you.
I went through the task force member lists in the 35 day meeting notices posted on Common Cause for the annual meeting held in 2010 in San Diego at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego , California
Because the by-laws of the American Legislative Exchange Council state:
The membership of a Task Force consists of legislators who are members in good standing of ALEC
This time I can truthfully state THESE FOLKS ARE ALEC MEMBERS.
Yes, there are duplications with other lists across the web.
Yes, some of them have said that they have dropped out – but I don’t believe them – and to me once an ALEC member, always an ALEC member – they chose to be an ALEC member. They chose to serve on these task forces.
Yes, there are some new names you have not seen before.
But I had to post them all.
- because ALEC members are just so proud of their membership in the American Legislative Exchange Council – that it should be posted on the web as many times as possible.
These are the “special” members – they approve the “model” legislation introduced by ALEC Corporate Profit Sector members.
Oh – just as note – take special notice of those folks on the Public Safety/ Elections task force – they are the people who brought us kill at will, voter ID and immigration legislation.
