Albany NY Action Opp Against ALEC and Right WIng Lies

Found this announcement this morning.
Thom Hartmann always says that we need to expose the right wing lies – and it appears that there will be a whole morning of right wing lying happening in Albany New York on September 12th.

Would be nice to get an action of information going in Albany the morning of September 12.
Handing out information that challenges the right wing lies that are being told.

Just an idea – here we go

Briccetti and New York business groups will assess state’s competitive position
Business Council President and CEO Heather Briccetti will part of a panel discussion Wednesday, Sept. 12, hosted by the Empire Center for New York State Policy to talk about New York state’s competitive outlook.

The presenters will be Jonathan Williams, director of the tax and fiscal policy task force of the American Legislative Exchange Council, a Washington D.C.-based conservative think tank, and David G. Tuerck, president of the Beacon Hill Institute, the research arm of the economics department at Suffolk University in Boston.

Heather will be joined by Michael Durant, New York state director of the National Federation of Independent Business; and Brian Sampson, executive director of Rochester-based business lobby Unshackle Upstate, to discuss issues including business conditions in New York, the state’s tax and regulatory environment and what policy changes are needed to spur long-term economic growth.

The event will run from 8:30 to 11 a.m. in Room 148 at the Alfred E. Smith State Office Building, 80 South Swan St. in Albany.
