93 Democrats Kicking Seniors to the Curb??

Is your Democratic legislator more concerned with getting elected than representing you???
Ninety Three Congressional Dems have chosen not to stand up for their senior constituents.

But Michele Kimball, executive director of AARP Minnesota, said that would mean reduced benefits, even for those already on the program.

"We believe this is actually going to set our seniors back," she said. "Going with a chained CPI is not the answer, and there are other ways that you can look at controlling Social Security costs and strengthening it for the future. The chained CPI is absolutely not the answer."

In Minnesota, nearly 660,000 seniors receive Social Security. It's estimated that they would lose nearly $1.9 billion in the next decade if the chained CPI method is adopted.

In a statement issued today, 250 Ph.D. economists and more than 50 social insurance experts with doctorates in related fields expressed their opposition to proposals aimed at reducing the Social Security cost-of-living adjustment by tying it to an index (the chained CPI-U) that does not reflect the spending patterns of beneficiaries. Tying the COLA to a chained CPI would result in a 3 percent benefit cut after 10 years and a 6 percent cut after 20 years. It would have the greatest impact on older retirees and disabled beneficiaries, who are often the poorest beneficiaries.

WHY DO I BRING THIS UP?
Well..............
It appears that Obama has put social security and medicare on the table again.

I'm really getting tired of being his favorite citizen to kick around.
He thinks these threats have no affect on our daily lives?
He has total disregard for the fear he is instilling in seniors?
He has total disregard for the fact that Soc Security adn Medicare are EARNED BENEFITS - PREPAID through payroll deductions from the employee AND then matched by the employer.
He's better than having a RepubliCON in the White House - but not by much.

Minnesota Senator Keith Ellison - who cares about Minnesota and US seniors penned a letter with
Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL),Congressional Progressive Caucus Co-Chairs Reps. Keith Ellison (D-MN) and Raúl M. Grijalva (D-AZ), Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), and Rep Donna Edwards (D-MD) to Obama  noting:
“A commitment to keeping the middle-class strong and reducing poverty requires a commitment to keeping Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid strong,” the Members said in the letter. “We urge you to reject any proposals to cut benefits, and we look forward to working with you to enact approaches that instead rely on economic growth and more fair revenue-raising policies to solve our fiscal problems.”

The letter and signatories are

Has your Democratic legislator signed it?
NINETY THREE DEMS did not sign the letter.
If no, Why not?
If no, when do you plan on contacting them and telling them to sign it?
