This is how ALEC
intentionally misleads their members with “junk data” and deceptive
information.
Selling them lies.
ALEC membership brings with it weekly and monthly updates full of ALEC right-wing, ultraconservative, extremist, propaganda.

Happy sounding little title – eh????
Just like all ALEC bull$hit – misleads the reader.
There must be something in the water in
the Midwest these days. Wisconsin,
Indiana, and even Michigan are enacting laws curbing Big
Labor’s privileges, as elected officials are finally putting taxpayers and
workers ahead of special interests.
In June, voters in Wisconsin overwhelmingly showed their
support for reform when they rejected the union-engineered recall of Gov. Scott
Walker by a 53 to 46 percent margin. The successes of Gov. Walker’s 2011 Budget
Repair Bill, or Act 10, speak for themselves. Estimated savings to the state
and local governments have exceeded $1 billion in less than a year, and Wisconsin has created
23,000 jobs since 2011.1,2
Walker promised 250,000 jobs
to Wisconsin
based on his absolute belief that implementation of ALEC policies was the end all, be
all - to bring Walker fame and fortune.
How'd that work for him - not at all.
EVERY legislator out there who is an ALEC member will live with that stigma for the rest of their career.
For Walker - his ALEC connection and his dedication to the policies of ALEC - will hopefully destroy his future and his political career.

At the same time that ALEC was publishing this in the
magazine – the ultra-right blog Redstate had the following headline

With all the legal issues related to Act 10 – the savings
are going to be minimal.
Examples include the Kaukauna school
district, which went from a $400,000 deficit to a $1.5 million surplus.3 This
has enabled the district to reduce class sizes and reward high-performing
teachers with merit pay. The Appleton
school district saved $3.1 million after putting its union-run employee health
plan out for competitive bidding.4
All lies – Kaukauna class sizes did not go down – net
teacher pay went down

to you. You won the Walker Booby Prize of higher taxes and a poor education for

The Appleton School
ranks 176th of the 424 Wisconsin School Districts
The Kaukauna School
ranks 223rd of the 424 Wisconsin School Districts
I wouldn’t call those a raving success!!!
And in March of 2013 the Appleton
School District Superintendent noted this:
The governor’s proposal earmarks
$73 million more for voucher programs, $23 million for charter schools, and $21
million in grants for special-needs students to receive vouchers to attend
private schools.
“Instead of public funding for
public education, you have public funding for private education,” said Appleton
School District Superintendent Lee Allinger. Under Walker’s plan, “It’s not feasible to expect
(to maintain) current schools, with current programming and current staff, with
the current quality of staff.”
Doesn’t seem like he’s a happy camper either.
Back to the lies in the ALEC article
The Midwest
is seeing an economic resurgence. The recovery is due in large part because
these states are stopping favors to special interests and looking to promote
low taxes and job creation with their labor reforms. Big labor will try almost
anything to block these reforms, but with brave elected officials and an
informed electorate the region will continue on the road back to prosperity.

Wisconsin – ZERO growth – none
Michigan – Negative Job Growth
Indiana – 2 one hundredths of a percent of
growth
Negative or no job growth is notable because only 12 of 50
states had negative job growth in the survey – only two states had no growth.
In the November 2012 - 24/7 WallStreet Best and Worst Run
States you have:
Wisconsin – 21st of 50 states
Michigan – 31st of 50 states
Indiana – 23rd of 50 states
I wouldn’t call those a raving success!!!
And even before this article was in the ALEC magazine – in
March 2012 – Wisconsin
had been ranked 42nd in job creation by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. That puts Wisconsin in the bottom 10 states.

And even the right-wing Tax Foundation ranked Wisconsin as 43rd in their 2013 listing of
business tax friendly states – even after Walker
put in all his “We’re Open for Business” tax projects for ALEC members. That puts Wisconsin in the bottom 10 states.
Scott Walker is proof that the economic policies of the American Legislative Exchange Council do not work!! Or, another perspective could be, even if you
give a dumb Republican the best of the nasty ALEC policies to work from and
coach them every step of they way, they will screw them up every time.
It doesn't matter how ALEC spins the truth in their member magazine - math, tells the true story to counter ALEC lies.
And as far as Michigan
goes – overall
I wouldn’t be bragging about a state that is systematically
destroying every remnant of democratic of/for/by the people representation,
based on what appears to be racist policy.
What is happening in Michigan
is the epitome of the destruction of democracy.
Destruction of democracy – that could be the ALEC slogan.
Lying, lying, lying
That’s how ALEC educates their members.
