ALEC Economic Report - Authors Credentials Skewed

If you look at the "About the Authors" section of the latest ALEC economic report - you will find bio's that seem to (as always) serve the purposes of ALEC.  Biased and Outdated.

Today a rebuttal to an recent opinion piece provides some amazing and new information regarding the authors of the red-state lauded economic report distributed by the partisan and biased American  Legislative Exchange Council.

It takes a village to discredit ALEC.
Snips (my emphasis)

The Mountain News’ lead editorial in its May 30, 2013, issue lauds ALEC—  ... —calling it “an organization headed by economists with some impressive credentials.”

The first such expert cited was Dr. Arthur Laffer, “named in 1999 by Time Magazine as one of the 20th century’s greatest minds.” But “time changes” and so does Time Magazine’s opinion. In Time’s “Business & Money “ section, on Aug. 9, 2012, Laffer’s latest contentions—that “every dollar of public-sector spending on stimulus simply wiped out a dollar of private investment and output, resulting in an overall decline in GDP”—was depicted this way: “Laffer seems to have forgotten, or ignored, some pretty basic concepts in economics. In other words, Laffer is getting laughed off the economic stage.”

SNIP

The readers of the Mountain News would be best served by editorials not premised on viewpoints emanating from political entities with biased agendas...and editorials should be signed by the editorial writer.

The opinion piece goes on to rebut the credentials of the other two "economists with some impressive credentials.”

It's worth 4 minutes of your time.

There are a lot of organizations out there with paid staff that are researching ALEC and ALEC's reports and NONE of them have come up with this quote on Laffer.  It took a determined citizen activist to set the record straight.

It makes Laffer's authorship and statements of results in the ALEC economic report even more questionable in regards to validity and reliability.
